The rule of thirds
This technique allows the person behind the camera to know where to position their character in order to make the shot look interesting compared to if the character was in the middle for all shots taken which can be boring for the viewers. The diagram on the right hand side illustrates how this technique works with the grid. The rule of thirds draws the viewers eyes to the composition of the shot. It also helps to keep the viewer entertained by the video or photo taken as the shots allow the video or photograph to be more appealing to the eye.
